I don’t think the issue at hand is an expectation of recompense or even direct apology. The Turkish government is claiming the Armenian genocide DID NOT happen. As I noted in a previous post, general apathy toward the genocide led Hitler to believe a Jewish genocide would be met with similar indifference (”Who remembers the armenians?”). The erasure of genocide leads to a culture of impunity which fosters more genocide in the future. Sue, I invite you to read my earlier post on this for more information on the history of the cover up, which has often involved coercion.

In a more general sense, for nations to ever move beyond the brutalities they have committed, they must first own up to them. If Americans had a better conception of the consequences of CIA actions in Africa and Latin America, would they have been so optimistic about the Iraqi invasion?

The word “fag.” Anonymous covered this in their excellent panel about project chanology, but I wasn’t satisfied with how that went down. If I may summarize and paraphrase, they said “it’s part of our culture, we’ve got no problem with queers, and if people can’t adapt to us and our language then they don’t belong on the internet.” Harsh but fair? Fucking dumb? I’d like to hear more.

Maybe the gecko only there to sell you car insurance? Since he apparently isn't much help with the pests. I'm actually impressed with the black ants knowing to get out of the laptop as it warmed up and not getting themselves fried, but maybe it was them who told the red ants to come, so you may not want to take mercy on them.

Well there are several challenges to ordering pizza in India. One, pizza is not exactly ubiquitous (but I do live in a city of 10 Million, so we do have a few dominoes and pizza huts). Two, combining my accented English with a Telegu-speaker's accented English with a phone is not usually a recipe for success. And three, tipping in India is deeply mysterious. Few mysteries are as hard to unravel as how much to tip an Indian delivery boy.

I sympathize with your USAIR debacle. when I flew them to Spain, they left my luggage in Philadelphia. I was clothes-less for three days before those fucks got it back to me in Spain.
